Project background

Platform.sh is a second-generation Platform-as-a-Service built especially for continuous deployment. It allows you to host web applications on the cloud while making your development and testing workflows more productive. Platform.sh supports a number of different programming languages and environments, and features recommended optimizations for a number of featured frameworks.

Nukomeet intervention was to support Platform.sh team to build an architecture of the application, provide a reliable backend engine and create a flexible user interface where client can easily manage all projects.

Our involvement

The role of Nukomeet was to conduct the conception and help building of the application from the scratch. Through consulting with the client, we defined the needs and established detailed specifications that were used as a roadmap during development. From the very beginning the application was architected to be robust and remarkably easy to use.

Technologies

Python is an interpreted, interactive, object-oriented programming language. It incorporates modules, exceptions, dynamic typing, very high level dynamic data types, and classes. Python combines remarkable power with very clear syntax. It has interfaces to many system calls and libraries, as well as to various window systems, and is extensible in C or C++. It is also usable as an extension language for applications that need a programmable interface. Finally, Python is portable: it runs on many Unix variants, on the Mac, and on Windows 2000 and later.

AngularJS is a structural javascript framework for dynamic web apps maintained by Google and community of individual developers. It gives ability to use HTML as your template language and extend HTML's syntax to express your application's components clearly and succinctly. Angular's data binding and dependency injection eliminate much of the code you would otherwise have to write. And it all happens within the browser, making it an ideal partner with any server technology.

Jekyll is a simple, blog-aware, static site generator perfect for personal, project, or organization sites. Think of it like a file-based CMS, without all the complexity. Jekyll takes your content, renders Markdown and Liquid templates, and spits out a complete, static website ready to be served by Apache, Nginx or another web server. Jekyll is the engine behind GitHub Pages, which you can use to host sites right from your GitHub repositories.
